We did it!!
I'm thrilled to announce that, over the weekend, the Impure Blood, Vol.3 Kickstarter surpassed our first stretch goal!
That means that hardcopies of Impure Blood Vol.1 & 2 will be going out by June, while Vol.3 is still being printed!
This is great news for everyone new to the series! They'll have their books in hand and read just in time for Vol.3 to arrive! Perfect for that summer reading list!
Oh, but we're not done yet! I am determined to make this pot even sweeter! Our next Stretch Goal is on the horizon!
Now it's time for the fun and games portion of the Kickstarter! Presenting, the first ever Impure Blood Caption This Contest! But I'm going to do one better! for this one, you get to fill in character dialogue! For example, here's the original:

So lay it on me! Your dumb jokes, other peoples' dumb jokes, your wacky one liners, call a character out on their BS, whatever! You're in the drivers seat now! Leave your entries in the comments. There'll be a new image everyday this week so check back often! You should have plenty of chances to play!
And lastly, if you like steampunk and paranormal investigators, you must absolutely check out Boston Metaphysical Society from Madeleine Holly-Rosing.
It's about an ex-Pinkerton detective, a spirit photographer, and a genius scientist who battle supernatural forces in late 1800’s Boston. They live in an alternate steampunk history where ghosts and demons are a normal part of life. Families known as the Great Houses control the economy of the Great States of America while the middle class and lower classes sole purpose are to serve the Great Houses.
It's a great story, with plenty of real-world characters and events thrown in for grounding. Madeleine has been a great source of wisdom an inspiration to me personally in my crowdfunding journey, so I cannot recommend this enough!
Her latest Kickstarter ends in just 3 more days, so don't let this one slip you by!

OK, so I waaaasss going to try to be a little more conservative with the original art giveaways on this campaign. It is a bit on the time consuming side, after all. But, upon reflection, I realized that was the part of Kickstarting I enjoy the most! Finding out what my backers are into, getting to draw characters that I wouldn't normally have a chance to, hearing people get excited when they see their bonus sketch...
I couldn't resist! It's on!

It's looking good!!
We had a much more modest growth spurt yesterday, but hey, growth is growth!
I want to make sure everyone knows that the backer whose pledge pushes us over gets an original digital sketch card added to their reward! We are sooooo close, it could be anyone at this point! I really love doing these and it's become one of my favorite parts of Kickstartering.
And, oh yeah, I got this little tidbit in my email the other day...
That's right! Kickstarter officially loves us! I don't know what to say! I've never received such a strong statement of affection from an online platform before! I'm flattered and I like Kickstarter too, but... This is all so sudden! And I've been hurt before. I like the way Kickstarter and I work together, and I don't want to jeopardize that relationship. Plus, I'm thinking of seeing a few other crowdfunding platforms. Will Kickstarter understand if I want to be polyfunderous? Looks like I'm gonna ave to take Kickstarter out for coffee and have a conversation about what this means...
...
So anyway...
One of the things I definitely love about Kickstarter is finding comics from other parts of the world that I never would have otherwise. For instance:
When American soldiers are tasked with re-establishing contact with a black site nestled deep in the heart of the Kakadu National Park in Australia, soldier and outback myth will face off in the ultimate game of cat and mouse. The bodies will mount, loyalties will be tested and no one will come out of the bush unscathed.
There's only about a week left on their Kickstarter, so if you've ever watched the movie Predator and thought, "This is good, but it would be a lot better with a kangaroo," Then this is 100% the comic for you.
Ahh... Who'm I kidding. I love Kickstarter too. Maybe we can agree on being friends with benefits.

We did it!!
As of this morning the Impure Blood, Vol.3 Kickstarter is 100% FUNDED!!
AND we set a new personal record for getting funded! Less than a week! I am incredibly grateful to everyone who backed! I cannot understate it: This is amazing! I thought that it would take me another couple Kickstarters before getting to this point, and I cannot wait to see what the next couple weeks bring!
