Road Tripping

Do you like road trips? 

I'm a seasoned road tripper myself. All those years drawing caricatures in the summer at fairs across the midwest, I'd be on the road for days or even weeks at a time. Sometimes I'd be in the car for twelve hours straight. I developed a system and I learned to enjoyed the ride. It's kinda nice to only have one objective for the day: get there. I listen to music, podcasts, or audio books, I talk to myself, muse about deep existential topics. There's an enforced stillness in road trips that I enjoy.

Running a Kickstarter campaign is not unlike a road trip. There's a lot of preparation, plans made months in advance, a last minute flurry of activity against an approaching deadline, that oppressive feeling that you've forgotten or overlooked something, the big excitement as you finally take off that carries you for the first stretch of your journey, and then...

And then there's the nothing but The Long Haul before you.

And we have reached what I think of as The Long Haul portion of Kickstarter campaigns.

This morning the Impure Blood, Vol.3 Kickstarter stands at 90% funded.

A much more modest growth than the explosion we saw over the first weekend, but that's to be expected.

Sooo... now it's time for some fun and games on this road trip.

I can't even right now!

The Impure Blood, Vol.3 Kickstarter closed out the opening weekend at 88% funded!

$7500 was the funding goal of my very first campaign and it took me three weeks to get there. A little more than a year later and I got there in just under three days!

Forgive me if that sounds like a humble-brag. I just have to say it out loud (or type it) to put it into perspective. I barely believe it myself.

I am so grateful to everyone who backed this weekend and helped make it my best Kickstarter yet! And this is how I show my gratitude:

Holy Crap!! We just blew past %75!!

Heavens to Murgatroyd!!

The Impure Blood, Vol.3 Kickstarter just blew past 75% funded ON DAY ONE!!

In fact, we're hanging out at around 85%!!

I am speechless! I'm stunned! After the grind that was the Volume 2 campaign I had no idea of what to expect. But this? This is way better than I could have possibly hoped for!

The weekend isn't even over an we're already chasing the 100% funded mark! Which means it's already time for me to unveil the final milestone bonus before we start moving into stretch goals!
